Line and Shape
Flower
For this particular photo we had gone out into the courtyard of the school. I had been about 5 or 6 feet from the flower. My viewpoint for this particular picture had been on the ground so I was lined up with the flower instead of getting a weird angle on it. This photo is horizontal. In this picture I didn't really consider the rule of thirds. I wanted to capture as much as I could into the scenery as long as the flower had been the focal point of this piece. I'd have to say that this is the most dynamic composed picture. The flower drags your eye to the center of the picture then the lily pads drag your eye along the perimeter of the flowers. The rocks in the background create a good reflection off of the water and and help you look around the perimeter of the entire picture as well as the focal point.
Auditorium Chairs.
For this piece, we were in the school's new auditorium. I was inches from the closest seat in the picture. The viewpoint for this picture was straight. I had knelt down near the seat, set my camera on the arm rest and snapped it. As well as the picture above, this picture is also horizontal. In this picture I considered the rule of thirds. The backs of the chairs are one third, the arm rests in the middle are the second, and the backs of the chairs on the left is the third. Also, if you look at the wall it's also set up in thirds to drag your eye. I don't think that this picture is as dynamically composed as the other picture.
Auditorium Seats and Stage.
This is also the new auditorium. I was furthest from the stage in this picture. My viewpoint on this was up above everything with my camera tilted downward. This photograph is horizontal. This picture contains the rule of thirds. The curtain on the stage is set as the horizon line with the pop of color.
